Dr. Mancini’s theories on the interrelationship of media and learning have been applied most fully in the travel business, where his company has created some of the industry’s highest-profile instructional and certification programs, especially those for the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) and Marriott International. It is estimated that more than 300,000 travel professionals worldwide have benefited from training programs that he has designed or delivered. He also designed and staged the AAA Travel High School Challenge, a national competition on travel-related geographic knowledge. During its four years of operation, the Challenge attracted over 200,000 teenage contestants at local, state and national levels

Dr. Mancini created the YTB E Campus instructional series which is one of the most comprehensive travel training programs ever offered. The series includes travel industry overviews, lodging, tours/groups, cruising, air travel, rail and car rentals and travel sales and service/marketing. It also includes training on destinations such as North and South America, Europe and the recently released course on Africa, Asia and the South Pacific.

Marc Mancini is an Adjunct Professor of Travel at West Los Angeles College and is one of the travel industry’s best-known speakers, educators and consultants. Dr. Mancini’s client list includes Marriott, CLIA, Holland America, AAA, Norwegian Cruise Line, and the Hawaiian Visitors and Convention Bureau. He has authored or produced 12 books, 32 videos, dozens of training web sites, and over 300 articles. His works have been syndicated by the Los Angeles Times, and he has appeared on CNN, ABC’s Good Morning America, and Showtime. He is a graduate of the University of Southern California’s prestigious cinema department. He holds a BA from Providence College and an MA, MS, and PhD from USC. Dr. Mancini was named “Educator of the Year” by the International Society of Travel and Tourism Educators and, in 2010, received ASTA’s Diamond Award as one of the seven most distinguished travel professionals in the history of southern California. His book Access: An Introduction to Travel and Tourism received the Distinguished Achievement Award from the Association of Educational Publishers.
